In 1891 de woning van de Gentse liberale senator Camille de Bast en echtgenote Amalia Armellini, die het huis van haar ouders had geërfd. In 1917 door de Britten beschoten en vernietigd. De woning werd dieper in de prachtige tuin heropgebouwd. Georges Defretin, een textielbaas uit Halluin werd in 1932 de nieuwe eigenaar. La Roseraie diende dan als weekendverblijf. In 1961 verkocht aan de dekenij Menen, die er het jeugdheem Daiselheem voor katholieke jeugdverenigingen van maakte. Het huis was ook de woonplaats van enkele onderpastoors. Begin 1990 worden de woning en de grond aan de nieuwe eigenaars van het Dadipark verkocht. Sinds 1991 privé bezit.

The White House or Big House
